Dr Solanki, operated on my son for a tumour in his spine, he and his team kept us informed during the early stages of prognosis. after a 10 hour operation my son came through and is now well and made a full recovery, Dr Solanki sees him once a year and always explains the healing in the bones as he grows older, but also has time to ask about his interests and constructive comments on what he can do physically. People should understand that a man of his genius is being pulled to very urgent cases and learn to be patient. In general a very brilliant genuine surgeon, with a very caring and smiling nature. My wife and I totally trust this man, his explanation and after care are absolutely brilliant.

Mr Solanki has operated on our daughter on a number of occasions. The care and support he has provided to our little girl over the past seven years has been outstanding. He is a remarkable man who despite the immense pressures and responsibilities of his role, always gives us the time we need as a family to ask questions and agree a way forward.

Let us down twice now. My daughter was born with water in the brain. (Severe), we met him before the birth at the children's hospital, he ended up seeing us an hour later then when the appointment was due, and that was because I started continuously going to the front desk and reminding them the time we were supposed to be seen. Some people actually left because they could not wait any longer. Although he was nice when we actually managed to see him. Now again my daughter was born 5/01/2014 at heartlands hospital, she was transferred to the children's on 6/01/2014 at 4 am because of breathing difficulties, now it is the 10/01/2014 he was due to see us at 10Am I wasted the whole day waiting for him now it is 17.30 still not met him. He was due to advise us on whether to operate and drain the water from her head, or give another option. But he is obviously far too busy to see us!

Having been diagnosed with a brain tumour I was obviously concerned about treatment, surgery and long term effects. Mr Solanki has put me at ease with clear, concise explanations. He has been totally honest with me and has given me confidence in his knowledge and abilities as a neurosurgeon. He has taken great care to ensure I receive my treatment at a time that causes minimal disruption to me and my very young family. On his advice I have enjoyed my maternity leave before going ahead with the surgery. I have 100% faith and confidence in this man, he is simply quite brilliant.

To me and my family, this man is a guardian angel. My daughter was born with hydrocephalus so we first met Dr Solanki when she was 7 weeks old. At all times, Dr Solanki has been fully available to us. He has explained everything thoroughly and always listened to our concerns. My daughter is now nearly 7 and we see Dr Solanki every 9 months or so for an "MOT". He remembers us, takes interest in my daughter and always makes us feel that he is there for us. He should be "sainted"!
